I find myself in situations where it would be convenient to leave binos in the car. Same goes for a scoped rifle. Please don't panic, I'm not talking about an unattended vehicle. Just want to make sure kids can't access the rifle on a private campsite. Instinctively, optics in a hot car doesn't seem like a great idea. Sealed gas, pressure changes etc. Opinions?
Schimdt & Bender quote operating temperatures on their optics.
I'm pretty sure that a car left out in the hot sun will readily exceed those temps given the right circumstances. The boot even more so.
