Options to Fix Accuracy, Lack Off

Righto wise men. The rifle I had threaded to suppress has come back, and is lucky to hit paper now. It used to run sweet on PMC, but I can no longer source it. The last 4 shots through it were spot on. Since the I've tried another brand and it's spraying them all over, as in up to 12 inches off target. Ives got another couple of different brands to try, and will get into it soon to see what it does.
Next problem is the scope. It's a fairly high end Tasco Worldclass 3-9x40. Looking at going into somewhere that gets wet and don't want any fogging up. Looking at it closely there's smudges on the inside of the lens, so going to do something with it. While I'd like something that's bullet proof, and crystal clear, budget won't stretch that far. A VX1 is about it. That would double the value of rifle.
Just want a second opinion as whether I'm going down the right track.It is more coincidence that it's lost it's accuracy(change of ammo) than the work done on it .All screws and mounts are tight. I don't, and won't be reloading, so stuck with factory ammo. Each time I've gone and tried to sight in, I've been pressed for time so that's not helping either.
I can't be bothered chasing the problem to much more so are in 2 minds whether to quit it and get new one or not. By getting a scope and trying that, I won't be losing anything as it would go onto the new gun.
The barrels been given a good clean now, so that should rule out fouling

Take the suppressor off and shoot a group and see if it shoots tighter, it will shoot to a different point of impact without the suppressor. Have a look at the end of the suppressor and see if you can see any marks where a projectile might be hitting.

Run a cotton bud round the crown and check that there are no burrs catching any of the cotton wool. I can send you a scope to try out if you wish in order to eliminate the scope. Make sure the bases are securely fixed to the action.

Is it shooting like crap with the suppressor on? Try it without. Most likely explanations are loose suppressor or not fitted concentric to the bore (either baffle strike or somethings moving). Could be a messed up crown although I'd be surprised if that could bugger things up that much. What rifle are we talking anyway?

A decent scope will help. I dont think a leupold is the Best Buy at that end of the spectrum (or at most price pints to be honest). Bushnell elite, sightron S2, or even a dirty old vortex diamondback will be better options. If you can find a nitrex somewhere you'd be laughing (rebadged weaver grand slam that can sometimes be picked up for bugger all - and better than all those mentioned above - sightron would be the closest).

What cal @oraki ? Could cook up some roll your owns for it if all else fails. I would be looking closely at the crown area if it's recently been threaded, probably also pay to shine a light through the suppresor and see if there's any signs of baffle strike

Also it might like a bit of copper buildup if it was the subject of your recent txt to me...

Done that, no burrs. I think I'll stump up for a scope anyway as it could go on other rifles at this stage. They're all wearing package deal optics, so they need improving as well. Thanks though

No marks on suppressor and will try without it next time out

threading a barrel shouldn't be a problem . . . if the guy knows what he is doing., if he doesnt it gets ugly, wasting ammo and time chasing your tail and getting nowhere . . been there once.
a self proclaimed gunsmith/engineer chewed up the end of one of my barrels, had to be sentl to GunWorks to get it done properly - who did the work on yours ?

POI will be a little different with a suppressor on . . but should still group as before or better with a new crown cut.

It was highland that started spraying all over the show. I've got some Winchester, Fiocchi and PPU to try out. I think the PPU is made in the same factory that PMC was

Highland and Prvi PPU are stablemates out of the same factory. PMC could be made anywhere - they have in the past jobbed out despite being a South Korean comapany. Maybe made there these days.

PPU (Privi Partizan) is the same as Highland.

while the boyz have idea's on the rifle / accuracy I will go down the scope path. Get a Bushnell with "Rain guard" really good scopes mate, won't break the bank and when it rains or is misty or humid you can still use them.

Before wasting any more money on ammo, run through the following. Check your scope rings to ensure they are nice and tight. Then check your barrel crown for concentric edge (even all round with no ridges). Check for fouling in barrel, if too much fouling then clean. Then check your bedding, make sure there is no crap that has fallen into the stock causing bedding issues (give it a clean to be sure), and check your torque on action screws. Once you have checked these things then play with ammo choices. Always check for issues in this order:scope, barrel, bedding, bullets.

Hey if you have tried the cotton bud and thoroughly checked the workings of the mounts, rings and scope then you are getting to the pointy end.

if it's 7mm08 brigade I shoot that and mine loves whitetail or sst in the hornady version. May be worth a try- the Remington hated Remington rounds go figure!

Firstly fire without silencer, if all ok it can be a couple of things from past experience
1 bore is not central to barrel, larger bore required on silencer
2 threading has ruined the crown ( bad grouping without silencer as well, but scope is good), re crown
3 silencer bore is too small, no sign of clipping, but after silencer was enlarged, it grouped well
These are 3 things I have had lately with newly threaded rifles, I am not a expert by any means, but these are some of the problems I have seen.
