    Option's when selling rifles

    Howdy,

I’ve got a couple of rifles I’m looking to move on, but I’d prefer not to use Trade Me if I can help it (high fees and all that). Just wondering what other safe, legal options are out there these days?

I haven’t sold a rifle in about 12 years, so I’m a bit out of the loop with what’s available now.

    Cheers

Sell them here, the biggest difference from TM is that you must put your sell price on them. If they don't sell at that then you might have to reduce them till they do. You'll possibly get offers if your pricing is way off and someone is keen. The paperwork with the FSA is the same . . ..

Use TradeMe to give youself an idea as to the value. Selling on here has the advantage of not dealing with some of the f-wits that are on TM. As Tentman mentioned it's a bit like a Dutch Auction though.

Though you might be optimistic if your starting prices are based off GC prices on TM!

My opinion, Trade Me rifle prices on $1 reserve auctions are about the best market indications but there is a small minority out there who realize where todays market stands and price to it.

the very best is privately to a mate next is on here and on here you can ask others for a price guide - trade me is a gamble - or you can sell direct to the two big chain shops but they will not give you a good price at all -

I sell more rifles on trademe than on here due to larger audience- I price them cheaper on here too.

Way more muck around on trademe so always try here first as usually find out quickly here if it’s going to sell and less hassle. If no interest I list on trademe for a few hundred more but still takes a couple weeks.
