Thinking of buying a bipod from Amazon (US). Price difference is pretty significant. It'll have to ship via YouShop. Straightforward, or am I setting myself up for a world of pain?

You shop is likely to stop the package and refuse to ship it if they have any suspicion that it's remotely related to firearms. I had some flush cups and sling swivels stopped...
If its being sold by a generic seller and will be shipped in non descript packaging then it could get through

If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more
Thanks, YouShop sound pretty dumb.

Forget that avenue of pleasure. Merry Christmas
And from the NZ Customs website:
Some firearm parts
Anything that attaches to a firearm requires a permit to import. This includes integral parts of the firearm, such as barrels and trigger group parts, as well as other items like scopes, sights, butt plates, and slings, that attach to a firearm but are not integral to their use.
Shooting accessories such as reloading supplies and gun cases can be imported without a permit.
Quote..What the fucking fuck!
Classic!!!
It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.....Sir Edmund Hillary
With the few items I have brought in via Youshop, they have always re-wrapped the item (just an excuse to charge you more) so any firearm related item would be rejected.
This is just a pain in the arse. I'm keen it import a rail to fit on a rossi puma but it sounds like a lot of hard work for a metal bar with screw holes.

YouShop took that stance a several years back at least (or at least became more diligent in their checking), not since M15.
I gave up using them long time ago after a tussle with them over a totally non firearms item which they declaired to be a firearm part/dangerous goods/do your want us to destroy it for you or return to merchant. Tossers.
I cannot understand why people still chance their arm with them, it has been well covered off on previous threads.
People need to remember that they are a direct agent for NZ Post and we are now well aware of NZP's onshore policy since M15.
