Thread: Painted .308

So when my brother went out hunting with it he never cleaned it properly and I saw it this morning with rust on it and so on so I stripped it down and was going to reblue but painted it instead, not sure if it'll last long but means I get to change it's looks over time. I think it looks alright brother likes it dads not too sure about.

I took a bit off the stock to stop it touching too.

And while I'm here, how's this happen?

looks all good, maybe do another layer with a lighter or different shade green to break it up more?

or use a bushy plant like manuka

Yeah, Kiwigregs onto it already, must be common haven't googled it yet but will. I will leave it as she is for now but was thinking next time maybe a fern pattern or a desert camo? idk yet but it was bloody fun doing it. Go for Supd

You painted it in the stock?

Can't say i have ever painted a rifle but thought the obvious would be to paint them separately, what stops it rusting like all Hell under the stock?

I painted it black all over while it was in bits

then done the camo pattern when it was put together

you have got termites in where you keep your bullets
