Gun works re-blued my Tika for a good price but you should certainly consider cerakoat. Normal paint wont like the heat at all but maybe BBQ paint if it is a cheap gun?

Just did one with engine enamel. 3 coats and washed the barrel with brakeclean first.
    Looks very good.

If you know a car spray painter get them to do it with a good etch primer and a thin coating of whatever colour you want in two-pack paint. I've done a few over the years looked good and as long as your not real rough the finish lasts good

Wattyl Super Etch in black. 2-3 coats does the job if you prep it right.

Many years ago I painted a few of my rifles. Etched primed them first then a Matt black. Just one of the spray can ones. Still painted now some near 20 years later

Did try engine block paint for the supposed heat but it never dried properly and was always tacky. I figured it was because it didn't get baked.

Would now just get a bluing job done or cerakote.
