Thread: Pard vs Pulsar

If anything happens to your pulsar, which there is a reasonable chance from experience with several units, you will be waiting a long time for them to get fixed. Think one unit was close to 6 months. That along with the fact you have to buy their special batteries etc. 18650s are so much easier and cheaper.
I know the unit that Kaweka223 is talking about and I have also had some pretty average customer service as well in regards to another night vision unit several years ago.
Sytong came out and changed to that, have used the gear for a serious amount of work and not had any issues. Pretty sure if I did I would be looked after.

I've got a Pulsar XP38 had it for 6 years now, think it was the latest at the time. Never had problem with it. Threads like this scare me when ppl talk about how difficult or long it takes to get Pulsar fixed. Last year went thermal scope route and got the talion, cheapest entry level. Its clarity is better because of more modern technology. In hindsight would have liked better quality thermal scope. At the end of the day the old handheld finds them, just keep on trying to get too close is my failing, but no pressure with thermal gear plenty of time to watch and wait. Spotlighting never worked for me

Have a chat with Fraser all you want mate. Have photos of the conversations we had after my pard shit out 3 times. He wouldn’t even answer the phone to me and have a conversation about the faulty product and just constantly hung up and ignored my messages. Really really disappointed in the customer service from pard to be honest and will never buy one again because of this.

With respect, your comments would carry more weight if you were an established member of the forum, rather than someone whose first two posts are having a crack at someone a lot of us have dealt with and had a good experience.

All good mate. If it was a good customer service I would have said that also but it wasn’t so just sharing my opinion which I’m entitled too and the experience I had dealing with pard nz after my product was faulty. If it was dealt with in a more professional manner we wouldn’t be having this discussion in the first place. I’m sure people can make their own mind up about it anyway. Not sure why you’d think I’d come onto a forum and make up lies about something. I have better things to do with my time. Bottom line was my pard had water droplets on the inside of the rear lens even tho it was ip67 waterproof and fogged up on numerous occasions and I couldn’t get a full refund off pard when I tried to explain this and was told it was “user error”.

I have no position on whether or not what your claim happened - I wasn't there. My point is that you seem surprised that forum members don't automatically believe your version of the story. A lot of us know Fraser, few of us (if any) know you. You are welcome to change that.

I brought one of the 1st Pulsar units in chch 10yrs ago,XQ 38 Helium hand held.Nearlly 5k then ooch.Amazing unit for its time,never had a problem with it.Sold it 4yrs later for nearly the same purchase price.Pulsars boys in Nelson rang me a couple of times see how it was going.Good they showed interest in their products.
