    Parts from USA

How do you guys deal the this issue of specialist gun parts retailers not taking orders from off shore ?

"must originate in the USA, be paid by a USA issued credit card with a USA billing address"

I'm after some specialized parts like screws, pins, extractors etc from a small retailer.
Not the sort of item you can get through Brownell's

Absolutely nothing like barrels or restricted items

I have had success by contacting / phoning them direct and explaining the situation. Otherwise it is very handy having friends in the U.S.

I couldn't get a 20moa rail from US. Dangerous goods and NZ post you shop wouldn't do it either. Had to send it to a friend in US to bring over.

    Hi David,

Send me list of what you are looking for and I'll see what I can organize.

Or ask Brownells to special order for you - they’re really helpful.

There has been a few issues with friends sending friends small arms parts in the mail. Supposedly the limit is 100usd, but people have gotten in trouble for sending things like bolts, barrels, etc.

Phone them, and ask to speak to the manager or owner.

I've had good luck paying guys that can't take non-US credit cards with PayPal.

Other option is to check if the parts are available in Canada - they seem to have much less issues sending parts to NZ.

    Yeap ,

Canada can be a bit easier , except when the goods are air freighted via USA by the courier company with out the Canadian company supplying the parts being aware , and then getting seized by US customs , as having no US import/export permits , as had happened with MDT chassis , when using DHL couriers & routing thru their US Hub , in transit to other countries , Opps , then you get a empty card board box in the mail & a note from US Customs , saying it been destroyed .
