    Permit to import problems !

So I received a police permit to import firearms parts recently
    It came as three PDFs
    Supplier
    Customs
    And a no permit required
These are all password protected PDFs

Reading through the cover letter it says

"Note: NZ Customs or your Customs broker with require the password to open the electronic permit pdf (your firearms licence number)"

    This didn't work

Has anyone received one of these recently and cracked the code on opening these ?

At least now we don't need to post originals half way around the world

My one unlocked when I entered my FAL number, I think you might want to check back with the issuing office.

I did strike a different problem though - when you send the supplier version you might find their mail service blocks it as an encrypted attachment which can't be scanned for viruses. You aren't given the permissions to turn off the file encryption either.

@akaroa1 use a space between the first letter of your license eg T 123456 and it should work (hopefully) and then print it to PDF so wherever you send it can open it.

    Sadly that didn't work either

So I have bounced it back to permit issuing and expecting to wait another couple of weeks for it
