Picked up a set of the new HDX Zeiss Conquest 10x42s

Big step up from my 'these will be fine surely' bushnell Legend L 8x42s. First impression is really good. Lighter than expected. Feels more compact.
Glass is crisp and clear. Gotta say these look different.
Focal point out the other end looks really short.

I do have glasses so they say to set up the right eye piece to be wound right in. I'll have to get a normy to have a go and tell me if they notice the short depth focus point

I do like the effect tho. Can clearly see things at different ranges even if they're all jumbled together. Apparently they have a flattening lens in them or something bit I dunno if it's that or my optical settings?

If you use glasses, you don’t need to set up the right eye piece!
    Your glasses do the correction.

Interesting that you have to lock the focus on the phone or it automatically tries to compensate with its own focus like your eye does

But you see only subtle changes in detail. Better detail in the shaded part of the bush I feel. Also some chromatic error at the ridge line. Jeez you see the 'law of depreciating returns' with binos huh. To get that 4% gain you tripple the price

That's a tree top at a bit over 100m approx. Shot through a crappy samsung A23 workphone (I did clean the lens)
