Police firearms import permit fast processing times

I presented a 67B permit to import firearms parts to the Christchurch Arms Office on the 6th of December
The officer there witnessed and signed it and asked that I scan and send it myself to

    permitfirearms@police.govt.nz

We chatted about the system and how long it took the last lot of my permit applications etc.
He was optimistic that it could only improve.

I scanned in very high resolution and emailed to the police the evening of the 6th December and got the usual automatic reply.
This morning 18th December I have received the email scanned approved permit advising that the duplicate copies are in the post.

That is only 12 days turn around and only 7 working days

So I want to give credit where credit is due and hope this in an ongoing trend.
I also had a lot of luck with customs on the last huge parts import.

and another tip from the CHCH arms officer

When you fill in your firearms license license number in the boxes provided write the expiry date underneath it
