    Possible new shop in Nelson

Some of the local nelsonians may be aware that H&F Nelson have bought out Stirling Sports in Richmond

So there Maybe be another small "shop" opening up for reloading, ammo stuff, scopes, rifles etc

    Really depends on demand

H&F having a monopoly in Nelson isn't going down too well locally

Plenty of guys would come from Marlborough to go to Stirlings, going past two H&Fs in the process.......

Let me know what you think, PM if you like

    Cheers Greg

Sounds like a business opportunity KG. I have often wondered whether Auckland could support a decent private (non franchise) shop but learning today that there are only 6000 licensed firearms owners in Auckland and being able to think of six stores off the top of my head (with a seventh just having closed), I suspect that there is not much opportunity.

Auckland district is basically old Auckland city, great barrier Is and waiheke, so a pissy little area.
Your forgetting counties/manukau and waitemata districts.

In the past it is entirely likely that a couple of shops locally that have closed haven't been helped by the guys behind the counter giving healthy discounts & great deals.

It is a fine line between giving good clients a great deal/discount to keep their valued custom & making an acceptable profit....

Non-acceptable profit eventually means no shop, no matter how you cut it....

Overheads on a traditional shop are pretty high & shops face severe competition from the internet as illustrated constantly on this forum & others

Yeh well I fucked up and got that wrong. The 6,000 is just for the area covered by the Auckland Central Police. Over 30,000 holders in the region.
