    Problem with Leica Range Finder

    I have a Leica Rangemaster 1000-R that I purchased in Oct 2013. It has only had light use.

    It has developed a fault so that when I turn it on the screen display locks on 8.8.8.8. and nothing I do will shift it.
    I put a new battery in but no change in result.

    I have tried Googling but have not found any answers to the problem.

    Has anybody got any suggestions or similar experiences before I package it up and send it to Lacklands for repairs.
