    I always mount my scope rings with as much of the "clutter" ie levers, screws, nuts etc away from the ejection port. On the left side for a right handed rifle. Never know when you may want to clear a stuck or jammed round and sharp bits make it bloody difficult.

    I’m the same, but mainly so the “sticky-out bits” are not where my hand is when carrying the rifle. Which is also the reason I dislike detachable magazines that don’t sit flush.
