That's why we insulate houses & hot water cylinders etc to keep the heat in & cold out.
The carbon barrel on my CA 10 is cool to touch but the metal end cap certainly isn't.
Same experience with my carbon one, cold on outside and hot as shit inside.
Found it was actually hard to gauge how hot it was,
And took a long time to cool.
Probably not an issue on a hunting gun.
