I run mine with white as hot, black as cold. That way it isn't so bright to look at in the night.

Its a lynx lc06s. Bottom of the range and budget but good enough for what we do and the amount we will use it. Once upon a time shooting used to be quite simple rifle and some ammo, I find Im getting more and more gadgets just to go for a walk with a rifle. I could of got something cheaper that clips on your phone but could see that not being the best for wandering around at night and taking a few knocks etc

I find it amusing when out in a frost and water/streams show up as hot even though they are cold as.

Scan with thermal and if animals are close I’ll work in closer if necessary using thermal, smaller lense with wider FOV so handy for this. If I need to cover bigger distances I use a headlamp with red led on lower setting, lighting ground directly in front of my feet to see where I’m going if necessary. Otherwise I just take it slowly if there’s enough light to see my way. Only use thermal with my left eye to help preserve my right eye night vision. Adjust NV screen brightness and contrast as necessary also to help preserve vision. That’s what works for me.
Exactly this works for me to.

Don't do it. If you want cheaper talk to @55six about one of his phone mounted thermals. I expect you would be better off than going for a Temu special.

My old 2016 entry level pulsar is better than a cheap thermal a mate bought recently. You're better off going second hand than Temu.

I looked at the aliexpress amazon ones but I felt it was much better to be able to walk into a shop and handle the thing and try it out there. Plus if theres a problem I can take it back to the shop. I got it from jacobs digital.
