    R8 Stug stock.

Heya all, been a bit mentioned lately re these stocks so i thought I'd wade in with my 10c on a R8 stock I've had made by a forum member.
It's only arrived this morning so I haven't yet fired her however will do that this afternoon but my first impressions are very positive, stock is very stiff and strong and it looks very good- end of my report

2nd impression is that all of the fit, barrel, magazine and the bolt assembly is very neat and snug. The barrel channel looks unified and allows room either side of the standard profile R8 barrel. I had him put a Limbsaver on and this is also well done and the finish is excellent.

One thing I was warned about and this nearly was a deal breaker; when making the mould it will leave slight marks where the two sides meet on the original stock. This is the case but it is hardly noticeable at all. In fact if I wasn't pre-warned I'd hardly even guess there was a slight discolouration at all.

For value for money and for a weight reduction of maybe 400 grams or so this has been a great bit of coin well spent in my opinion.
I'll put the new scope on and weight it and post that up tomorrow but as it is it feels significantly lighter now.
Cheers for the work and great comms throughout the last few weeks Captain Stug.

    Regards all.

    Dan M

From memory the bare rifle weight, no rings or scope but everything else was 6lb 8oz.
The carbon stock was 1lb 1oz lighter than the factory.
