Anybody know if I need a permit to export a 2nd hand range finder from the US?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to see IF your model is ITAR listed , if its made by a mil company like Vectronix's , then its a ITAR item , and basically unless you are a Nato Army , you will not get a permit approved by the Yanks .
If its a std civie unit , then it should not be a problem , if it has a Mil purpose , then it will usually be ITAR listed/restricted .

Its a nikon 600 buckmaster, definately not military.Figure it was OK so hit buy now.But the warning that popped up was a bit scary and the web site for explaining the regs was about as straight forward as MMP. Worst case I blown $$.Best case I can accurately guage ranges.

Is it even worth the hassle for something so cheap?

    Mate I fully appreciate that.
It's a $300 rangefinder? You buy it from the US it may not even get here that was more what I meant and the hassle.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

I'll still have to buy you one as I think I'm a couple of months off (if it doesn't taste like shit). Give me a shout when you're down.
