Rangefinding binos - What to buy?

    Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my binos to some rangefinding ones. Currently I have some 10x42 Leupold Alpine BX2. Looking to spend around $2-2.2K

    Looking at the following

-Vortex fury 5000 (like the vortex warranty, have looked through a friends glass pretty good)

-Sig Kilo3000 BDX (ballistic capabilities would be nice, but not sure if the glass is any better than what I currently have. Bit more than I can afford but may be 2nd hand)

-Meopta MeoPro Optika Laser RF Binoculars 10x42 HD (dont have any experience with, but the reviews are good)

-DELTA TITANIUM 9X45 LRF LASER RANGEFINDER BINOCULARS

Any info or recommendations on these would be appreciated.

    James

I've heard good things about the GPO Rangeguides. german precision optics. I'm considering a pair for myself, although i'm quite annoyed to notice the H&F price for these has just hiked up $500 since I was looking at them in December 2022.

Get them from Sarvo who used to be on here. He sells Geco bino's which are rebranded GPO. Heaps cheaper.

    Hey,

I saw them. As much I work love to have them, they are a bit out of my price range.

I'm running the sig 3000bdx with my kestrel.
Awesome combined and can get ranges and solutions to 4.5k.
It's not Leica glass but not Leica pricing.

I have a pair of Leica Geovid 10x42r, i find them great. Really good glass, no ballistics onboard but i only use them for rangefinding, then use hornady 4dof for the calculation.

^^^^^^ that is about as much as you need to know, he basically got sick of arguing with a few on here over about non hunting and shooting topics and decided he was better off not spending his time here. Certainly doesn't need to be dragged up again....
    .no offense intended.

    Another vote for the Sigs.

Onboard ballistics is great and is why I got the Sigs. Finding a deer in binos, then rangefinder, then going to your phone for solution, then adjusting scope, then finding the deer in the scope, and hoping it hasn’t moved too far, works sometimes but going binos, to scope reduces that process a lot.

The glass isn’t going to be Leica or Swarovski but my hunting buddy has swaros EL 10x42 and he said he couldn’t tell the difference. I think I noticed a bit more clarity at dusk and early morning, but not a huge amount.

Buy the best glass for the money you have, it will be you best upgrade yet. Rangefinder binos are a "nice to have" but not essential, some Swaro EL10x42 will put a smile on your dial every time.
