    Probably not much better, might get 1,000 rounds out of it. Thats plenty for a hunting rifle, lots of meat and practice (and hopefully) a few trophies in 1,000 rounds
    If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

    I just ran the numbers thru my barrel life calculator, and there's about 15% more theoretical life with the Fatmax. Plenty of hunting barrel life in either chambering, but we've found the big 7mm's easier to get to shoot than the big 6.5's.

    If it was for hunting purposes only, I'd just go with a stock standard 7mm WSM.
