Thread: Re bluing

Does anyone know who does re bluing work in the Waikato, or not too far from there? I’m going to message Dean Maisey but it says on his website he’s not doing those jobs at the moment. Have a shotgun in need of some attention.

Difficulty in getting bluing salts at the moment means one of the gunsmiths I know isn't taking on bluing jobs.

If it is not an old gun and you are after an original finish, I have seen guns black nitride coated, not only is a decorative but give a very hard shell as well. I know heat treatments in Auckland do it......only a courier trip away.

There's a guy around Te Kuiti way who looks to do some nice work, goes by the name Guntech Nz but don't think he's taking on any new work at the moment but best to get in touch.

Cobus is a top bloke, great that he is now back in Nth Island.
