    Don't do that. That screw for adjusting the sight is already weak and you dont want to interfere with it every time you strip your rifle.

    Undo the side screw and slide off the sight protector blades. The rings will slip over the bared sight. Just start by pulling the top front wood backwards out of the (loosensd) front ring and there is now room to play.

    Forgot to say, to do that you FIRST have to loosen the middle ring, prize open enough to slide that forward enough to allow you to removd the rear top wood.

    I'll tell you later, but next step is the magicians' interlocking rings trick. (-:
