Reducing recoil - muzzle brake or can?

If you hunt with anyone else get the can. The brakes are just way to load for others to be around if your laying into it.

you will need hearing protection with a muzzle break, no ifs or buts, if you fire a shot, especially at altitude, be prepared to have some permanent hearing loss,

I think I'm immune to developing a flinch after spending a few days at the range shooting subs from a suppressed 22lr. The next bay had someone sending .338 Lapua or something down range with a brake one it, the side blast from that thing was crazy. I prefer the suppressors as they are more socially acceptable and have them on my rifles.

Have not much altitude exp So slightly off topic what's it like trying to use ear plugs up there ? Not for me all my guns are suppressed except shotty and if you could I would suppress that as well Mind you Beretta Extremas have no recoil. (wait for the bites now )

I guess it really depends where he is hunting then.

I have built a suppressor for a 12gauge, pretty big and ugly though.

muzzle brake will reduce the most recoil of the two but will blow your ears with out muffs. the can a little bit less recoil but much the same noise. save your self a shit load of cash and hasle and get your local hunting shop to fit a limb saver. way cheaper then fitting a brake or can and will reduce the recoil felt shit loads.

How heavy are the limbsaver's?? they seem heavy to me when ive held them? found they are .75lbs

they weigh fuck all just put a grind to fit one on my 264 win mag should be testing that out in the weekend, my oldman fitted one to his 444 marlin took shitloads of kick out of it. a limbsaver would be my first pick before fitting all that other stuff. $80 well spent

How do the grind to fit ones work?

a boom is directional a crack is not, whats happend on possibly 1/2 canned shots ive had the deer ethier run straight for u ( echo of the hills behind them) or round in circles so if u wana shot 2 deer or maybe shoot same one twice can it! great for recoil on 223 head shots on mynas as well aye HAPPY!( hope this makes sense been big day at least its nt an i )
