Which brand of hand cream would any of you suggest that offers the least amount of friction and any other side benefits that may come from your preferred lotion?
having someone for dinner sneeze
Attachment 6615not much difference
Attachment 6616and the plot thickns
you would be able to balance that on other beer bottles......................yeah right!.
Nah not me
Yeah Im keen to see that!
Do it!! But for fun try to balance it muzzle down on bottle on a ball :o
Cant see rifles well enough on phone screen what action lengths are they
My turn...
Model 7. 6 1/4lb (2.83 kg)all up with suppressor.
Without suppressor. 5lb 10oz (2.53kg)
Rem 700 LA. 26" fluted #3 plus brake. 8.15lb (3.7kg)
Barnard P Chey action. 32" fluted truck axle plus brake. Balances exactly where it should for shooting off bipod. 18.5lb (8.39kg)

Attachment 6623shit had tuimans issue bloody clooking
What about that mod 7 without the can Sam .... how does that go :D
Does the balance point REALLY matter in 99% guns designed to shoot more than 100m?
Those shots would rarely be offhand and would be rested or bipod
Its carry that only matters, and if you have built something that is so front heavy, that it carries badly then its balance point for shooting means nothing as its built for a rest.
One thing you DONT see here in NZ very often is position of the stock sling swivel being moved.
Makes a HUGE difference
I can take the 'most perfect' balanced rifle and it would be fucked straight away due to my positioning of scope.
I have a 'giraffe' neck and typically scopes are 2" further forward from someone that doesnt crawl down the stock
The difference in weight in question between LA and SA in under 3.5oz, and given the length difference the weight shift is approx less than 1/2" further forward
Push you flutes 1/4" further forwards and back and take a few of the unused rail slots off in the mill and that weight is gone
hav to agree both tikkas in my pics balance at same point but r completly different to carry, setup for different shootn bush 308 easy carry, longrange 300 hopefully back of bike or in the ute to top of a hill (but dont even bother askn happy to carry it although he did once just after he told sme 60+ lady tramper "terry will take your 100kg pack")
Talk about moan ... OMG ...
She had hurt her hip.I thought its was bloody good of me to carry your rifle so you could carry her pack.
It wasnt that bloody far to the helicopter .... he he he Man that was funny ....
Must be the difference between "managing" a BAD situation and just being part of a BAD situation ....
Where the hell is this thread going?

Here you go, a few real world rifles that get used. Long , short and micro actions just to compare.
In the real world my hand isnt as wide as a beer bottle when im carrying said gun.

Tikka weighs in at 3.3, sako at 2.88, CZ around there. But different balance points for each, might be make and quality of gun. Interestin thread this as i have always been interested in the differences but after reading.. not much of a problem. But at the end of a day if you are worried about a rifle that weighs a little too much.. lord help you when you shoot a deer and try to carry that however many kilo of venison out!
balance point..... well put some lead in the stock and it will have it back further....but it wont be light :P
It does also matter more for long/short if your rifle is light as when you get down under 7lb all up, the barrel sticking forward the more will unbalanced it more.... Not an issue long/short if the rifle isn't on the super light end of things :)
Going light does get interesting try to keep the balance and do everything you want (dial scope, barrel length to get enough velocity etc)
