One test you could try next is doing a small glue in bedding to see if it improve things.
If the gun was not shooting that well the following could be done:
it is taking the barrel off, checking contact between bolt lugs and action lug and lapping /trueing if necessary, truing front face of receiver, fitting a thicker recoil lug like a holland or pacific tool and gauge, refitting barrel and adjusting headspace.
Shooting the gun again and see what it does.

Sounds good to me. I am looking forward very much to it. Make sure you are wearing your best ear pro! This is an awesome real world type experiment. Actually seeing it shoot off the bench would be kind of interesting for comparison. Do you reckon there'd be much difference? Or is that not really the idea of the series?

Nice knob. Keen to see it in a cheap chassis.... Maybe something like a Cadex?
But seriously, with the bedding block in the Bell and Carlson, it would be interesting to see it in a chassis of some sort, and perhaps a standard rem stock?
Would give a good a good indication of what the stock is capable of and how important a decent stock is.
Seemed an effective brake, eyecrometre had it moving feck all maybe 5-10mm.
For me on that rig the suppressor would win, the only beef I have with suppressed magnums in most cases is the barrel length then adding a suppressor to that, makes them pretty long and unruly :)

interesting the bipod was used and not the solid wooden bench shown in the video . . i would kill for a bench like that when shooting groups, bipods are definitely 2nd choice for me . . just goes to show we're all different.

interesting that the groups opened up with the brake compared to suppressor. Any clues to what's behind that ?
Recoil should be less with the brake. I'm guessing there's probably some difference in barrel harmonics & if so fine tuning the load could/should shrink the brake groups down to same or better as suppressor.
Also keen on understanding how much difference a different stock makes.
