Thread: Remington 788

So I have been given a 788 model remington in 308.
It turned up yesterday and although it's not mint it's in bloody good condition with a few light marks on the stock and metalwork and blueing very good.

My question is I have a DPT 30 cal suppressor in my cupboard ready to go but am I doing the right thing as the front sight will need removing for threading ( over barrel )

I know it's not a true classic by any means but they are hard to come by and one in this condition is uncommon.
