    Remington 788

Has anyone done the Trigger alteration wherein you drill a small hole front and back of the trigger housing then tap and insert a screw and locking nut for adjusting the trigger and overtravel, how did it go, was it worth it? it or do I just spring for a Timney?

Any other tips for bedding/accurising the 788?

    Trigger alteration below.

    Cheers.

I just paid a good gunsmith to do a trigger job on mine , $60 from memory and made a big difference.

Did up a really rough one for a young guy. Mild pitting in bore but here was the first group I shot with it

Buy the Timney. When its installed send the old trigger to me. I'll get it modified. I'll keep it till I find a 788 I like and test it. Should be done within 10 years.

The timney will probably cost nearly as much as the rifle.

The 243 carbine was closer to 2lb.
Mind you considering rod woods was his local gunsmith he may have had it lightened

$285 for a Timney from Workshop innovation, I think Brian is going to have a tu tu with it to see if there is any adjustment or roughness that can be stoned out.
