    remington m700 sps 243

One thing of noticed is with this particular rifle is after about 3shots during zeroing the next 3 i start to notice alot of mirage through the scope need to wait for the barrel to cool. Was the same with a leupold on and now a burris fullfield 11. the scope is in weaver grand slam low rings. Im wondering is this the 243round and common in other rifles aswell or is the scope to close to the barrel. It is quite noticable that the barrel does get hotter quicker than my 308.

    Skinny barrel? Suppressed?
Suppressors hold a lot of heat.

Hmm i have 243 and 308 and the 308 gets hotter faster but the 243 has a bit more steel to heat up having a smaller hole up it.

More magnification makes mirage worse. Does the 243 have a higher mag scope?

3-9 x 40 burris on it now used to have 4-12 x 40 leupold on it. And like silentscope said went all fuzzy after string not rapid fire through it and groups went to shit, let cool down and then groups well again. Just wondering is it the remington or is it commen with the 243 round in a hunter weight rifle.
