What are these triggers like, do they work OK or need a bit of a polish up, or are you best to chuck in the bin and put an after market jobbie in ?

Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!
They come from factory with an adjustment screw that will supposedly lighten them up. In effect, it doesn't do very much.
I ended up sending mine to my uncle to give it a few tweaks, and it is now very very pleasant to use.
They can be worked on to get them to a reasonable standard.
Despite being worked on, the ones I've had haven't been anywhere near as good as my Jewel or Rifle Basix triggers.
hay mate funny thing I have a rifle basix and timny but also a 700 factory that I got the gumsmith to work on and they all seem the same now I think jewel triggers would be a go but wouldn't bother to much with the rest. would just get a smith to do yours
@Matt2308 , How have you found the Rifle Basix triggers?
(I have a couple on the shelf that I replaced with Jewels, I found the Rifle Basix triggers too creepy in comparison)

The one I have has no creep at all and is nearly as crisp as my Jewel, but I may have got a good one...
I have one rifle that has an X mark which is absolutely awesome. I also have another rifle that has a Timney because the X mark was a dog. I guess its luck of the draw.
Pretty much standard when buying a Remington these days........On a side note my X Mark is a beauty but its had some professional loving......
