I have recently had a suppressor installed on my rifle and after a day of hard shooting, found that the muzzle crown had an extremely hard carbon layer on it.
I have tried Soaking and scrubbing with Hoppes 9, but it is barely budging.
Any other cleaning products that can be recommended?
hot water and dishwashing powder
Sonic cleaner?
Got a bronze bristled gun cleaning brush? That works for me. Or else get some polypad from Bunnings. White or if that's no good try maroon but be gentle
Brake clean. Acetone , Eds Red
Do you need to clean them? I never have and have a few that have had a lot of rounds through them

I took Drivermans advice and tried Acetone, still took a fair bit of scrubbing with a brass brush, but I got it all off.

What make barrel, cal, suppressor? and who threaded the suppressor?
I scrub my barrel crown with a bronze brush and M-Pro 7 cleaner.

Stand you rifle up vertical against a wall before the 6 o'clock news. Put a good dose of boretech c4 on the crow so it soaks in. Have diner, dessert , watch movie, have sex then wipe the muzzle with a towel then it should be all clean( talking about the rifle muzzle here !). If not re apply c4 and leave over night and should be all clean in the morning.

I use the neck of a 30 cal case the clean the carbon off the end of the muzzle.
Done in 10-15 seconds and no harm to the crown, as its brass on steel.

I had a a light but stubborn dusting of carbon on my muzzle also, just used very fine steel wool that i use to clean my brass, a couple of spins on the crown and it looks like new, i added kroil to the wool as well.
