    Removing heavy carbon fouling (suppressor)

I have recently had a suppressor installed on my rifle and after a day of hard shooting, found that the muzzle crown had an extremely hard carbon layer on it.
I have tried Soaking and scrubbing with Hoppes 9, but it is barely budging.

Any other cleaning products that can be recommended?

Got a bronze bristled gun cleaning brush? That works for me. Or else get some polypad from Bunnings. White or if that's no good try maroon but be gentle

The crown? Think some are taking this as how to clean the suppressor?

I use my carbon bore cleaner on the crown, any stubborn bits gets a brass brush.

Yes, was a very heavy baked on carbon layer on the muzzle crown.
I had got a fair bit of it off with Hoppes 9 and scrubbing at it, but it didn't get it all off.

I took Drivermans advice and tried Acetone, still took a fair bit of scrubbing with a brass brush, but I got it all off.

    Thanks all.

What make barrel, cal, suppressor? and who threaded the suppressor?
I scrub my barrel crown with a bronze brush and M-Pro 7 cleaner.

Is it possible that a poor threading job would cause this to be worse than it should be?

    In what sense?
The poor threading job has led to excessive fouling?

Yep see where your coming from. Be rather hard to suspend your barrel over a sonic cleaner. It might work though!
