Required to justify the number of firearms you own?

The new Police Arms Code 2017 is out and you are now expected to justify the number of firearms you own, from the Arms Code page 43:

"A firearms licence allows the holder to have and use sporting type shotguns and rifles. A licence holder may possess any number of sporting-type rifles and shotguns although you will be required to justify the number of firearms you hold when the Police inspect your firearms security."

Keep in mind that the National / Labour led Law and Order Select Committee into how criminals are obtaining guns wants to codify parts of this arms code into law.

    Download and read here:

You have to justify it, but there is no law about what constitutes a valid justification and what doesn't?
"Well ma'am, if I shoot any one too much I'll wear the barrel out, so I have 31 so I can shoot a different one each day of any month"

    Reasons
Rifle 1- I like that one.
    Rifle 2- And that one.
Rifle 3&4- And those two make a nice pair.
Rifle 5-And that one is great in the bush,
Rifle 6-And that one is better on the tops.
Shotgun 1- I like that one.
Shotgun 2-I like that one too.
Shotgun 3- This one is fun to shoot,
Rifle 7-and this one has enough recoil to remind us we are all alive.
Rifle 8-I like the noise this one makes,
Rifle 9- (rimfire) and that one is cheaper to shoot.
Rifle10- The next one is my wifes favourite
Rifle 11,12,13 and 14 - Looking after a mates ones while he is away...

    etc
    etc
    etc

Yeah and when they get stolen in a robbery all of a sudden you have 10 more, police talk to insurance company and new minute you get pay out on number advised to police.

Just because that's how many they saw doesn't mean you can have more at another secure location eg at a friends away being repaired what's wrong with that

What ever makes you feel better. I personally think every one is getting their nickers in a twist for no reason really. I don't think they want to penalise us they just actually want to know how many you have. There has to be a tipping point to using them and collecting them??

Hamish the issue is not the police asking you how many firearms you have or justifying their use, the issue is the Police claiming they have powers the government and courts have not given them. Police are tryin to creep the law with no legal powers to do so.

Ok, so maybe the question are such that you don't have to give a sufficient answer at the moment but once law is passed they don't have to reprint brochure.

Maybe there are people among us that are happy to give that information and people happy not too.

I don't see them going "oh you have xyz number of guns you must get rid of abc number to be compliant " otherwise there would have been a recommendation for this in the law and order thing...... Unless I missed it??

Yet no one questions why they "need" so many.
But hang on, you can only use one gun at a time just like the golfer can only use one club and each of the clubs are different and used in different applications of the game, no?? This is why ladies have more than one pair of shoes cos we all know they don't go clubbing in slippers of flip flops??
