    Reticle change?

Random question. Can you have the reticle changed in a scope? Back story, I love my VX5 with the windplex reticle but my only gripe is the reticle is a bit thick (not that it has ever actually caused me an issue lol). I looked through the similar moa reticle that comes on a VX6 not long ago and thought wow that’s the crisp sharpness the would make the windplex perfect. Can it be done and is it cost effective over having to fork out an extra grand plus for a vx6?

With Leupold it's relatively well priced to get the reticle changed.
NOIA in Australia handle the Leupold custom shop changes for this part of the world.

I'm guessing the reticle you saw was the TMOA reticle, it's a very nice reticle not too thin and not too thick.
If you have the 3-15 VX5 then you may be better off selling what you have and buying the version with Mil turrets and the HTMR reticle.
If you have a 2-10 the custom shop is your only option.

A bloke I know had his VX5 reticle changed through Leupold, Australia and sent through H&F and it cost around $500. H&F taking their $80 cut out of that.

Skip dealing with a shop in NZ and talk directly to the NZ distributor - no shop mark up that way. I just had my VX3i upgraded to the new CDS-ZL turret system cost $330 including freight.
