Thread: Rifle Availability

Hi all, wondering what the deal usually is with the factory rifles peddled by the Guncities, H&Fs and Broncos or {insert local dealer}- I’ve noticed that for the last many months they’re all out of the “nice”/flashier rifles!

Guncity doesn’t even have a category for 6.5G! Not to open that can of worms- but I guess my question is:
Is this sort of thing normal, annually or “seasonally”?
What’s the point of listing a package or certain cartridge/model when it’s perpetually out of stock? Etc

If you click on the “ Other” category under Firearms you will find the 6.5 Grendels. If that is what you looking for.

Once you figure out what chambering you want, as the rifles are all the same. So can pick up for fit and feel. Just tell the shop what you want and it's normally there in a day or 2.
Unless you're an impulse buyer and will just buy whatever is in stock at the time.

Last 10-15 years at least, it has been cyclical or certain makes/models will be available for a time as a one off event, what is available at any given time depends on all sorts of factors.

Most shops will be spreading there money out atm so having 3 expensive rifles means they cant have 8 Tikkas or howas

they don't get the stock for free to have on display

You get this dilemma that for top end gear you really want to feel it in your hand and see what its like before you decide, yet these are the ones shops hate to stock on the shelves.

Occasionally they’l stock a dream rifle to draw punters in. Once a shop in ChCh had a full TRG 22 with 5-25 PMII on the shelf.

Quite afew years ago now a good guy called JP sent a few swaro up to my local to look at. The cross hairs were too fine and eyebox too difficult for me so I didnt buy but I sent him a bottle of wine.

Recently I took the opportunity while down south to have a good look at a rifle there seemed to be only one for sale in the country. Helped make up my mind.
