This for a Parker hale isn't it? The old stocks shrink with age so if you use the bottom metal inlet as your "0" plane, it will hold the action up 0.5 to 1mm allowing plenty of room for bedding compound.
@Walker no cough cough... this is another project and far more likely to work as the barrel isn't complete poose and it has a bolt lol. Its a BSA Model E 303, a commercial rejig of a P14
