Well maybe.. .if you choose a steel filled grade.
My tires are made of steel and rubber but are probably not the same as your tires made of steel and rubber or they would all be the same price and all do the same job....unless they were made of hot glue or duct tape or some other leading tire making compounds eh?

@Sideshow mine has little tube pillars in it already but thinking of making new bigger ones. Wood around the rear one has settles and the action can rock in the stock-sort off. Need to get it on a level playing base as it were, before I even start to bed it. @Brian that is a great offer-big question is how much? Is it available locally?

A trick I've used that works pretty well is replace the rear tube with a bolt or threaded rod(10mm works well) the same lenght, that you've centre drilled out to a gnats cock bigger then the rear screws diameter. Tap stock for bolt, cover bolt in epoxy and screw into tapped rear hole till it is flush with the bottom of the trigger guard inlet. You can do the same for the front or use the rear as the locating screw and put some bedding compoud around the recoil lug.

arrow shaft works well for pillars.

@Walker I was thinking along much the same lines actually. I was going to knock the rear tube out and make one the same length. that will give me a good height base to work the bedding compound to.

This for a Parker hale isn't it? The old stocks shrink with age so if you use the bottom metal inlet as your "0" plane, it will hold the action up 0.5 to 1mm allowing plenty of room for bedding compound.

I've used a crossbow bolt, there cheaper you might be hard pressed to now find aluminium arrow shafts.

Marinetex is a top grade product, better than most commercial bedding compounds. Nice to use and super stable.

@Walker no cough cough... this is another project and far more likely to work as the barrel isn't complete poose and it has a bolt lol. Its a BSA Model E 303, a commercial rejig of a P14

@6x47 tried looking up that stuff, gets good reviews but hard to get unless you have someone do it for you.
all the devcon stuff that might do is somewhere between 150-200 bucks for a 500g tub. Otherwise I'd have to buy a couple of the syringe tube jobbies. That would be around 50 bucks.

I sent message to guy selling alloy arrows on trademe who offered to cut them to length needed,he more than happy to help and sent me envlope full of OFF CUTS...you know the extra couple of inches that would otherwise go in recycling bin......

@cmiffy Yep got one in the safe chambered in 30/350 magnum plus an action setup for holland and holland.

@Walker I just had to look up the 30-350. Interesting and probably an easier way to get a P14 style action into a better 30 cal than rejigging it into a 3006. My friendly gunsmith from the gun club who is helping me with the scope mounts etc has one in a 375 h+h.
Loads 300grainers as fast as he can make them go, muzzle brake of course. tack driver. he calls it the bunny buster. Mine is a looooong way from looking like that.
