    Rifle mounted torches???

    Hi all
I am currently on the look out for a torch to be mounted to my new savage 17hmr which I will be using for hare shooting.
I have used the P14 on my ruger 22 but I'm looking at buying a different brand as I think there are better torches out there which cost less and produce better/brighter light. E.g. "Fenixlight" "Nitecore" etc.
I would be happy to here your suggestions and opinions
    Cheers

Maxtorch is the way to go, I have a 2X and a M24 ( both dedomed ) and they are awesome lights, Everyone that I show is amazed by their great output & good spot beam.

For size, weight & performance the M24 would be my pick

    Here we go again

There can be only one for that range - Maxtoch M24, as noted in the "Flashlight Sticky" thread.
And a Convoy C8 for your .22lr for bunnies and possums.

Find that flashlight sticky thread on here. Its worth your time reading through it.

I am keen to take a closer look at the Maxtoch M24 or whatever they make that is brighter. Does anyone know if Maxtoch makes a model higher than the M24? I currently use a recoil thrower which works beautifully but am looking for a bit more light for longer shots on a 22LR.

    Maxtoch SN2X or something.
Timattalon - you're down south somewhere right? Give mudgripz a whistle. Or gadgetman.
The torch will burn the retinas of anything you aim it at, and fry any bug that gets in its beam.
    Its good.

As above, Maxtoch (either M24 or 2X) for 17hmr and Convoy C8 for .22lr. Links to the legit stores for all 3 lights are below. These lights probably can't be beaten in their respective price ranges.

Timandtalon - send me a pm and I'll give you a couple of dedomed maxtochs to try out. They will do the trick for you.

    Thanks for the reply
Do recommend the M24 or 2X?
Do they both have similar run times on full?
What charger and batteries do I need?
Is it worth buying scope mounts for the light off this website
    Sorry about all the questions
    Cheers

    And also
I see they don't have a zoom so does it still have good range?

I use the 2x handheld and the m24 scope mounted. You can clearly identify game 300m plus, further than I care to shoot.
De doming does not effect run time but makes a big difference to what you can see but in saying that standard the m24 still lights up the world, great spread and excellent throw. You should use panasonic cells which give 90 plus minutes on max.
m24 Ali express about $100nz delivered.Nitecore charger about $30 trademe.Panasonic 18650 protected button top about $11 each, you should get 4.And a simple plastic clamp $5 Ali express. So for under $200 you have a portable sun that will change the way you and your mates spot light forever.

True - I run just a dedomed M24 which does all the scope and/or handheld jobs - but there is merit to the idea of having a dedomed 2X as a spottie, and leaving the rifle mounted M24 stock for its wider beam plus throw..

    Naaah...I like lots of throw..
