My leather mate just finished these and showed up with them the other day......some of you may not get into this shit,but from the standpoint of leather work and artistry they are nothing short of superb.They can both be lengthened and shortened depending on barrel length.Will hold various scope lengths and sizes,the interior has been lined with kiwi sheepskin I bought back a couple of years ago for him...the handles are elk antler and supposed to represent a kiwi bird,I thought he did a great job ...comments???
Wow they look really nice. Top level craftsmanship. Ya can't go past a man and his loved trade. What are they worth out of interest, if ya don't mind saying.
They look awesome, would sure get some looks showing up to the range with one....
Mate ... I don’t mind at all... he’s retired,he’s an ol school craftsman..he has many talents... just to look at his hands,you can tell he’s no pussy.... I paid him $1000 for each.... it’s really hard to put a price on something like this,but those who know anything of the trade and the man hours to produce something like these will tell you they are worth every penny..... then again,they are only worth what I was willing to pay.....he is a good basstard,a the the price... very fair
...
Stunning.
If you left them to me in your will I'd feel obliged to wear tweed and smoke a curved briar pipe while I admired them through my monocle.
The love gone into them is worth a lot more than what you paid, agree, really transport you back to an old world.
Beautiful!
Wow !!!
I have just the rifle you put in one of those :-))
Excellent work, love the ornamental barbed wire !!
@qatermain
Works of art. Love his use of coins and brass; all of it actually.
Those are works of art really awesome m
Awesome pieces of leather art :thumbs:
Quote..”If the leather was darker they would fit in well in you're 'steampunk' world. Some real craftsmanship there.
Thankyou mate... I think that’s quite the compliment
Wow. Stunning.
He might find a market on Etsy. Could get some good coin from overseas...
Yeah mate... he’s here in Oregon and been commissioned to do another set... I’m gobsmacked that everything is hand stitched...,painstaking work by any standard(s)... I have quite a few rifles in various calibers ,they all fit.
It was very interesting to see how he shapes and makes these,a lot of prep(as with most things) to get the finished products
I have been wanting to post A330 but don't know what to say, take your choice
Gimme one.
Gimme both.
You suck.
They're beautiful.
Wish they were mine.
:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
Now they are beautiful! :cool:
I think this would be a great start to a thread on quality hunting/firearms related leather work?
