    Rifle, scope combos

I'm sure I'll be more confused by the end of this but I'll ask anyhow. Currently I have 284 win and a 30 nosler underway. I'm looking at scope combos. I have a vx5 3-15 in the drawer for one of them.

My thoughts are put the vx5 3-15 on the nosler and buy a vx5 2-10 for the 284. Shots with the 284 I wont really push past 500 where as I want to stretch the legs on the nosler.

Anyone have anyone thoughts on other viable options around the $1200 mark that could benefit both set ups?

I'm really impressed with my 2-10 vx5, was going to get another 3-15 but now run 3-15 on my 27 nosler and the 2-10 on my 270wsm

get another quality 3-15 or the VX6 2-12x42 are bloody awesome. But very hard to come by 2nd hand.... 'cos people hang on to them for a good reason.
Another option for your 284 would be a good quality 3-12, I run a Zeiss DL 3-12x50 on one of my 284's. Dial up is 6 mils so plenty plus some to spare for a 284 to 800+ yrds. Zeiss glass is hard to beat.

Why do you have two 500m rifles ? If you search for the answer to that, the solution to your scope question will become apparent. Grasshopper.

This is more or less the set up I'm trying to achieve, how do you get on without side focus?

I wouldn't have considered the nosler a 500m rifle? Or are you implying get a bigger scope for the nosler? These are the answers I'm after.

As long as you get the rifle setup properly for most hunting applications side focus is unnessacary. Get the 2-10 vx5. I have the 3-15 on my 284 but if I did it again I'd likely just go the 2-10

They are a big fairly hefty scope tho eh, too much scope for a hunting rifle really.
