I haven't seen an issue with the newer batches of ammo. Hornady stuff used to be terrible for split necks, not that it bothered the performance.
I have been enjoying my Tikka t1x in 17 hmr, bloody good fun on the bunnies and hares. Possums don't stand a chance either. This thing is point and shoot out to about 150 yards, fantastic in the wind. I hunt and shoot in the Manawatu, always a breeze and often gusty nothing seems to bother it so far.
