These have been sitting in my bits and pieces for years. I intend to pay these forward but no point unless I can identify what they fit. Pretty sure the blued ones are Conetrol. Assistance appreciated. Cheers

Those first ones are indeed conetrol but couldnt hazard a guess to the bases. I would like first dibs if you do get rid 9f them as I might have a project for them.
I think the second lot might be lynx rings and bases

Check the rings - they may be 26mm rather than 1"

99% sure those Conetrol bases are for a BSA Hunter/Regent action. The split base with cap screw clamping provides anti recoil friction required due to the fact that the (early)Hunter action parallel rear receiver bridge didn't have a milled detent to accept a base spigot.BSA latter on did mill an anti recoil detent hence the latter default Parker Hale bases do have a locking spigot. How do I know all this? Just brought one with those very same Conetrols.

@bluebaiter. That would make sense. About 40 years ago I had a BSA Hunter 7 x 57. I've certainly had those bases and rings hanging around for a long time.

Size: 2.15 MBIf the brains trust on here can't solve the riddle, then maybe a couple of happy snaps sent to the good ol boys @ Conetrol in Texas might be able to I.D. them

What size dovetail do they have? That might help.

@Husky1600 and @bluebaiter222 both sets of rings are 1". The conetrol bases measure .570 at base of dovetail and .620 at top. Bit of a mystery.

Thats a tad bigger than PH/BSA rings - the mystery continues

@Bill999 could well be. I was a dealer for years and had several BRNO's pass through my hands.

Bloody hell, if they're BRNO 601 I have a genuine need for them if csmiffy doesn't want them? That would be perfect, been building a rifle on a 601 action and was looking for a classy set of rings to complete it.

My gut feeling is these bases aren't for a flat topped Brno dovetailed receiver. The unique (presumably)anti recoil stepped base is for a very particular profiled dovetail set up.Only the stone age Khyber Pass gunsmiths would knock up something to fit these bases

The way I see it the bases are going to fit one of the three, probably. BSA, Parker hale or BRNO 601. How about I send them to @ Gun nut ( genuine need ). If they don't fit pass onto @ csmiffy ( might have a project )
If you guys agree @ Gun nut, PM me your address. Cheers
