    Rings for Brno model 1

What sort of rings do you have on a model 1?
    I gather its a 16mm dovetail.
I got some nice looking talleys that are 16mm but the problem is my model 1 has a slightly domed top to the reciever. The rings then dont sit down enough and end up just gripping a third or so of the dovetail.
This also causes a second problem in you cannot then tighten it enough to grip the scope (talleys are vertical split rings)
I suppose you could remove some of the underside of the ring which would allow it to drop lower on the reciever fixing both problems, but Im reluctant to do that.
Warne do make a set for the brno 527 which are supposedly the same size, but I might strike the same problem.
has anyone got warnes on a Brno model 1?
    Any other options?
    Cheers.

My 1956 Model 2 has the same dovetail as the Model 1 and I have Burris Tikka 16mm rings on this which I am pretty happy with. I'm not sure of the rings that I have on my Model 1 as I haven't seen anything like these for sale anywhere - they fit very well though. Photo below. I've got an old set of 16mm Hilver's on my Steyr however these would suffer the same issue as your Talleys which don't have enough headroom. I also had a set of Sportsmatch HT081 rings which worked well but are a bit tall and chunky. I do prefer the look of the Burris rings to the Sportsmatch.

    Thanks,thats another option then.
Yeah was aware of the sportsmatch, but they are as you say a bit chunky for the nice lines of the rifle.
Your rings on the number one might be original Brno rings perhaps?

Warne 1B1M (Medium height 0.425"). I paid around 100 bucks about 5 years ago. Found them now at GC, Broncos, Gunworks, all twice what I paid.
The Warnes are a perfect fit for my scope and they fit to the bottom of the dovetails. They do a 2B1M which is 0.535 top of dovetail to scope underside.

Rings for the Model 2 can be a bit oddball as thru the model's life they used 2 different dovetail widths. Maybe was something to do with the rifles destined for the Yankee market.

    Excellent. Ill order the Warnes.
I have them on my swede as well and I like the look of them. Bit more fiddly to fit but good once on.
Ive got an early 4x compact Leupold so the mediums be perfect.
    Much obliged.
