Never had an issue with many sets of Talley rings/bases over the years.

Gunworks pic rail on my 308. Cost, can't put a $ value on happiness (I can't remember, think it was about $120)

Vortex rings that came with the scope.

Got a Talley rail for my Howa Mini on the weekend. $150 from Gun City.

So would it be acceptable to say Talleys are the way to go with rings and bases etc? I don't know much about that sort of thing.

Yes to talleys. Got them on my mini, had them on a long action, will be putting them on my 308 when I get round to it.

They are base and ring in one unit. Although separate front and rear.

    Talley
    Pic rails
    Weaver
    Lynx - bayonet
    Millet/Leupold

Any two piece mount that will fit a Remington 700 works perfectly on a Howa 1500. Piccatiny rails dont fit however.

I have used both Talleys and DNZ Gamereaper one piece. Both are great.
