Rossi 8122 Bolt Action Rifle .22LR Threaded

    Hello friends !

I am in the market for a 22 rim fire for rabbit demolition..
I have a few questions for those in the "know".

Are these Rossi 8122 bolt action rifles worth buying or are they absolute shyte.

If I were to fit a dpt suppressor does anybody know what pitch thread they are threaded too (the rifle)..

soo many questions , much beer to drink and such and so on.

    thanks

Rossi is another of the Brazilian rifle makes. Others include Magtech, CBC etc - possibly same factories. Magtech semiautos are a copy of Marlins without microgroove barrels etc - not nearly as good.

Have played with several Brazil 22s and they are very very basic. Variable quality, patchy reliability and performance. One example was the worst new 22 I'd seen. You may get an ok 22, you may get a crapper. Better to take mimms advice and if budget is a factor buy a 2ndhand Norinco JW15 setup. Not Polytech brand JWs or GC ones - have seen real duds from them. Norinco JW again an entry level 22, but actions often smoother, better second hand or after a little bolt/trigger polishing. Almost always very accurate for bunny rifles. A chopped 16" JW is one of my favourite workers. Here's one in the Manawatu where you are??

This has a good little Nikko 4x32AO scope, silencer etc - and the setup costs less. Alternatively wait for a Marlin bolt - models 25/925/980 etc. The Norinco Em332 mentioned above is a gem with right ammos - costs more but worth it.

thanks guys , the one I was looking at was about $350 , I know you get what you pay for and all that jazz . I may just wait out and see how much coin I have when my piece of plastic turns up. I was looking at an American Ruger bolt action as I really like the look of the rifle , they are up around $900.
Thought I might cheat and buy a cheap 22 but ill be patient and be sensible.

thanks for the feed back lads

The EM322 for 600 nicker would be hard to beat. Still have to put a scope on it but at least the rifle would be a keeper.

Hey csmiffy , I am waiting on my piece of plastic to say I can buy firearms.
Otherwise I would snap that up.
    Thank you for your help.

I use a plastic JW15 on my lifestyle block to shoot rabbits, hares and magpies. It is the combo package and although the scope isn't great I rarely miss what I'm aiming at.

I can't use a bigger calibre due to neighbours and road proximity. For the money it was a bargain, if I had more money I would have got something better but it is hard to beat at the price point.
