Just brought a vixen 3x12x42,dials perfect, weighs only 12.5 ozs.Nice wee scope from reloaders.
Yep, BRX trigger.
I weighed up getting a carbine 10/22 and then pimping it out with VQ or Kidd parts, a heavy profile tensioned barrel, target stock etc, but that worked out way more than the factory Target Lite.
So it was a no brainer getting it.
There is a new 10/22 competition laminate model out, with 2 receiver screw (front and back), but its $450 more than my model.
Welcome to Sako club.
The factory Target Lite with Laminate stock sells for 1199~1299.
7 years ago, I bought a second hand stainless steel 10/22 (with a scope and a cheap can) for $300, added a $200 whistlepig barrel, a KIDD two stage trigger (worth $500) and a Hogue stock (worth $150) I had from another gun. Grand total $1150 canned and scoped, with a plastic stock and factory stainless steel barrel as spares. Things are more expensive today so one would expect to pay maybe another few hundies for my set up. But you get a KIDD two stage which has no equal.

I recall my build was going to be:
$600 for new 10/22
$600 for Kidd tensioned barrel
$650 for Kidd trigger

I see 55six have brownell receivers in stock that have the rear screw.
Ooops scratch that, just standard receivers!! Didn't really look properly.

Greetings All,
One thing to remember is for the best accuracy in a .22 RF you need either a dedicated .22 RF scope that is set to be parallax free at 50 to 60 metres or a scope that is adjustable for parallax. I have a Leupold 4 -12 with adjustable objective which is ideal. My Savage .22 RF has an old Lyman 8 power with adjustable objective with fine cross hairs.
Regards Grandpamac.
