    Ruger 96 44mag lever action

Toying with the idea of moving the ruger 96 on but with very little of them around and barely ever for sale its rather hard to put a price on it.

Anyone on here able to shed some light on what it's worth?

Will be sold as a package with all the reloading components etc

Fitted with a leupold vx1 1-4x20 and ruger rings
4x magazine which are near impossible to get
    51 hand loaded 240gn xtps
67 new brass and 44 fired brass
Hornady die set and case length gauge
    200 magnum pistol primers
50 cast lead pills for sub loads

It shoots well and have taken deer at a little over 100m with it

I'm drooling At the though of one. Had one in 22 mag, Nice light little shooter.
Would love one as a light carry Bush rifle and fun plinker. No idea what you would get but I'm sure its more than I'm prepared to pay.

The rifle must have been over $1k, plus the scopes & rings $500, plus $200 off fixed and brass an bullet egg.
So would you get $1600 I don't know, or am I low balling because I secretly want to buy it.
Try Trademe to see what other M96's have sold for. Mostly 22mag I would guess.

I coincidentally paid $1600 for mine as a bare rifle but it is an absolute minter - I thought it was a very good buy at that price. Looks like someone has tragically had a go at ‘checkering’ yours? If so that will materially (and devastatingly) impact on its value from a collector perspective. I also paid $150 for a spare magazine.

Would be inclined to split it up (especially the magazines). Fair prices are probably rifle + factory rings = $1100-1400 (if it is in fact checkered - add at least $500 on to that if it isn’t), scope = $300, magazines x3 spare =$150 each, ammo and reloading gear etc = $300.

As a package you might get $1800 ish - maybe more, maybe less…

Just re read my last post in the light of day and clearly either my finger or spell checker got in the way of what I was trying to say.
Huntsika is probably right, you will get best valve by breaking it up but at the expense of a little extra effort.

See a 22mag on TM for $1350 with 3 mags some ammo and silencer. No scope.

I cant for the life of me understand why more of these arent around, and why Ruger never went the next logical step and did them in .223.....
I was going to say $2000 all in.... for rarity value alone...the package as a whole is extremely good way to set up for anyone who intends to bush hunt. its all there.

It was bought from a pig hunter some time ago, he'd had a go at re finishing the stock but it was pretty poor so we sanded it back and sprayed in 2pot clear, it hasn't been checkered, just textured dimples in the clear to add grip. The stock could easily be finished again to ones desire. The attraction for us was it wasn't in collector's condition so we wouldn't feel terrible about taking it out and using it in the bush.

Thats one of the rifles on my bucket list since I fondled one way back in the early 90's. Im not even gonna suggest a price cos I would buy it in a heartbeat.
