    Ruger American Ranch 7.62 x 39

Has anyone had anything to do with the Ruger American 762 x 39 rifle?
Thinking I may need one and like that it comes threaded and takes mini 30 mags.
After any feedback especialy how it compares to the Howa.

Havnt shot the 7.62x39 version but have the 300 blk, the howa is the better finished rifle, stocks on both suck but work, action on the ruger felt like it had sand in it but apparently smooth out with time. The howa mag sticks out in a stupid place, looks like the 7.62x39 mag does the same.

I don't personally see the need for a 20 rounder on a bolt gun, howa's 10 rounder is more than enough, but if that floats your boat them why not.

Both I shot were plenty accurate with the howa having the edge.

Personally I would have the howa. The ruger was just a bit to rough round the edges

20 round mags are out,I've got a mini 30 and I'd have to go for E cat for it. Was the Howa fussy on ammo?

isnt that standard on any ruger...... a mate bought a hawkeye a few years ago same thing, has "worn in"(i guess thats the best discription) nicely tho

i guess what your going to do with it is important , are you going to try and run heavy subs? the twist rate might be a deciding factor what size is the barrel? .308 or .311?
i havent tried either of these so cant offer qualified advise ..... i did almost buy a ranch in 300blk i liked the feel considering its plastic maybe the balance and it shouldered good for me ( im not abnormally tall like some people).......but then a cheap 7.62 bisley popped up which has cost me less scoped and supressed than the ranch rifle was going to cost

I've got a Bisley at the moment, it shoots ok but I don't really like the feel of it. Probably give it to the stepson when/if he gets his licence.

just did a quick google search
ruger .310 bore 1/9.5 twist nice short barrel threaded and rail fitted
howa .311 bore 1/9.75 twist longer barrel bare rifle .......$200-$300 cheaper....
so not much in it ....
try them both for fit and feel?

Probably the way to go. Either need another safe or sell a few out of the spare safe first. Now's not really the time to be selling either. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Preferred the Ranch rifle over the Howa. That's what floats my boat..
