So finally got chance to get to the range and see how this goes... I did try sighting it in one evening but it wasn't the best conditions, got a really good group but then found the scope was loose so had to re do it all!

So tightened up the mounts and went to the range proper, perfect conditions last night... These are all 3 shot groups at 109yds.

Hornady 55gr SP Brass case training ammo

    Outback 55gr Sierra Blitzking

    Outback 69gr Sierra Matchking

    Hornady Superperformance 53gr V-max

    Federal Fusion 62gr

Home made 65gr Sierra Gameking RG brass Fed 205 23.5gr AR2206H

Very, very happy with this rifle it shot all but one of the types of ammo well. I only tried it with the first load of the 65gr Sierra Gamekings I had loaded in the RG brass and although it shot very well, the primers are noticeably flattened. This RG brass definitely seems to have a reduced capacity compared to retail .223 brass.

Good result there @sparky1000. That is the second rifle I've seen shoot extremely well with Outback (ADI) ammo.

cool, you going to stick to the hornady training ammo?

I got my vortex dimondback 4-12 scope today for my american all weather 223 so hopefully there is little wind tomorrow to see how it goes. I have 20 rounds of the training ammo but i have never been able to get it up here so got a box of the H&F 223 that has the hornady projectiles today so think i'll sight it in with those and see how it groups.
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

I will probably try to match the training ammo for a mates AR as it shot pretty well in that too, but I think for my gun I will develop a load with the 55gr Sierra Blitzkings for Bunny busting and the 65gr Sierra Gameking for deer.

Ok was going to use the ADI for the Deer and the Tula for splatting bunnies at a distance.

Sorry, that's for my gun. Which adi ammo did you get? I think the blitzking is more of a varmint round.

Surprising the point of impact and grouping is so similar with all the different types of ammo. Nice shooting too.

    So, just my 2c$,
Have you try your Sierra GameKing 65gr with ADI BM2? If not give it a go, i load it to my old Tikka and was easy "1/2"".
PM me if you want a start load and "My" accuracy load that may suit your rifle(as it suits a friend rifle as well).

All the best, great shooting there.

    Cheers.

    Hi Mac,

No I haven't tried BM2 yet, this was literally the first of my loads I tried it was a starting load at 23.5gr I had loaded up to 25.8gr, but never fired anything above 23.5gr after seeing the flattened primers. I will pull them all and start again a couple of grains lower. As I mentioned this milsurp brass appears to have a reduced capacity.

JoshC, yeah I was suprised how consistent it was and I am at best an average shooter, with someone good behind it this thing will really shine. Wish I could get my 6.5x55 as good as this!

    Hey Sparky
Whats up with your 6.5 , most of them shoot very well unless the rifle is buggered.
Don't want to hijack this any firther.
Start another thread if you want some advice on what others load for that caliber

    Edit to say.
Sorry PERRISCICABA, didn't see your reply re the 6.5 till I posted

Hi guys, sorry been busy last couple of days, thats very kind of you Mac! Its not shooting that bad with the best load so far its around an inch at 109yds so I shouldn't complain, I would just like to get it a bit better. I think all I need to do is play with seating depths a little, some more practice and maybe try a couple of other projectiles. I bought the rifle new, so she shouldn't be buggered its a howa 1500.
