Ruger marlin
I see the NZ distributor is advertising Ruger marlin SBL's as available.
I havent seen one in the shops yet, or do you have to order them ?
Am keen on one over the older Remlin version, but $3K seems a bit on the nose for a lever gun.
Has anyone bought on yet ?

I have a normal Marlin 336. I cant see why you would pay that kind of money for what is effectively the same rifle. The large loop lever is embarassing and useless.

Those 336 do look good and would have one of those too.
Dunno about the useless/embarrassing thing , would want to try it out before passing judgement

I have, and I am reporting it. It's for style only, if you use one, it is much much worse than operating a normal sized lever. It is intended for spinning the rifle and cocking it with one hand, which is a movie thing. Pig hunters might need it. If you've got two guns and a pig charges you? Spin - clatchchick bang!

Yes, but it looks COOOL!! especially with the paranoid wrap:D

The big lever might not be much use here, but try one in a cold climate with big gloves on.
