    I sort of like the black series in principle but an old school 70s 3030 or 444 would be more better

    Further update for this - the first Ruger made Marlins are shipping in the US with a few upgrades - 1895 - 45/70, 19" SBL, 6+1 mag, stainless, big loop
    - new sights + pic rail
    - nickle plated, spiral fluted bolt
    - factory threaded barrel + cap
    - revised ergonomics on stock and improved checkering

    Suggested US retail $1399USD ($2045nz plus what ever gets tacked on to bring them here)

    well i hope the RRP of the ruglin is indicative of a step up in quality......... close to twice the price of a remlin ......

    The SBL were always more pricey, I think last time they were available in NZ they were about $2300...so they will be over 3k here now probably.
